The correct next step depends on whether the question concerns current county custody, a past booking, a warrant, a state sentence, or federal detention.
- For current custody, use the official EPSO inmate search and call the booking desk if the result is uncertain. The search does not display booking photographs.
- For a jail booking report or intake photo, use the EPSO Records & Video Request process. Ask for each item by name and include the booking number when known.
- For court warrant information, call 719-452-5000 and choose option 6. Anonymous wanted-person tips go to Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers at 719-634-7867 or P3. Never approach a listed person.
- For a filed case or disposition, use the Colorado Judicial Branch docket and the Fourth Judicial District court record route. A booking charge is an accusation, not a final court result.
- For a person within state corrections jurisdiction, use the Colorado Department of Corrections Offender Search. It is not an El Paso County recent-arrest search.
- For federal custody, use the BOP Inmate Locator. For ICE custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator; each system covers a different population.
